Privacy Policy
This explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control. In plain English — not a legal wall.
What we collect
- Account info: email, username, display name, optional avatar and bio.
- Content you post: videos, photos, captions, comments, and reactions.
- Check-ins: if you share that you're at a venue, we store the venue and the time.
- Location: only when you explicitly confirm a check-in or ask to find your nearest venue. We don't track you in the background.
- Device info: basic app/OS version, crash logs, and — if you've granted permission — push notification tokens.
Why we collect it
- To run the app — sign-in, feed, messages, live streams.
- To keep the community safe — blocks, reports, and content moderation.
- To send the notifications you've opted into.
- To fix bugs and improve the product.
We don't sell your personal information.
Who sees your content
By default, moments and check-ins you post are visible to other users of Spilltop. If you turn on Private account in Settings, only approved followers can see your content.
Direct messages are visible only to you and the other participant.
Blocking and reporting
You can block anyone from their profile. A block is symmetric: once you block someone, neither of you sees the other's content or can message each other. Reports are anonymous and reviewed by our safety team.
Service providers
We use a small set of vendors to operate Spilltop, including:
- Supabase — account, database, storage, and push infrastructure.
- LiveKit — real-time audio/video for live streams.
- Apple Push Notification service — delivering notifications to your device.
Each of them processes data only to deliver the service to you.
Your rights
- Access and export: email support@spilltop.com to request a copy of your data.
- Correction: edit your profile in Settings.
- Deletion: tap Delete account in Settings → Account. This removes your profile, moments, and sign-in record. Some backup copies may persist for up to 30 days.
Children
Spilltop isn't for children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, email support@spilltop.com and we'll investigate.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll notify you in-app before it takes effect. Otherwise, check back here — we'll keep the effective date at the top of the page current.
